Vegan Baking

Before I went vegan, I considered myself a really good baker. Not amazing or anything, but I could usually whip up something very tasty in a short amount of time.

Not so much anymore.

I have been trying to find vegan sweets in my local grocery stores, but that is very difficult. Instead, I figured I’d make my own.

Urgh. ARGH! #&!(*@!

I can handle the savory stuff okay. Bagels? Delicious. Biscuits? Yum! Bread? Pass the jam, please!

But every sweet thing I’ve tried to bake so far has come out TERRIBLE.

I tried my hand at some brownies – not good.

I attempted some chocolate chip cookies – inedible.

Scones? Uh? Well they look like a scone.

And yet, I persevere. Tonight, tonight will be it! I can do it. I’ve found what has to be a fool-proof recipe and it’s currently in the oven. The batter tasted great, so I have to hope the finished product will be just as delicious.

Please.

If it works, I’ll add the recipe. If it doesn’t… then I’ll just be over here, crying into my pillow and dreaming about chocolate cake.
